If a private company publicly discloses its financial, strategic, or operational information, we base our analysis on that data. However, if such information is not publicly available, we conduct our analysis using financial and operational data from a relevant peer group of publicly traded companies.
You will see a “Peer Group Financials” icon for private companies that do not publish financial data. This indicates that the insights provided are based on peer group financial benchmarks and analysis.
However, DatabookAI offers similar insights for private and publicly listed companies.
These insights include:
Financial Strengths and Weaknesses
Best-fit solutions and use cases
Recommended Buyers
The Databook approach
By looking at trends and priorities for this peer group, we can provide relevant insights for the private company. This established form of private company analysis allows go-to-market teams to drive customer engagement with a credible point of view built on the best publicly available data and information.
For example, to calculate the financial Strengths and Weaknesses of a private company that does not report its financials, we look at the performance trends within the peer group. We base the analysis on data relating to the publicly traded companies within the peer set, not on data for the private companies themselves.
For a private company that reports its financial data, we use the private company’s own data to generate these scores (except for ‘investor sentiment,’ which relies on the peer group stock price index)
These performance trends within the peer group also contribute to other insights, such as the Databook Score, our outside-in propensity-to-buy score for the company.
For a Private company without financial data, we calculate them with the company’s own documents if available, otherwise peer group.
Similarly, best-fit use case recommendations and executive buyer recommendations rely on these peer-group performance insights to provide actionable intelligence.
