Use Upload a CSV when you already have a list of accounts, for example an export from your CRM or a territory spreadsheet. Databook matches each row to a Databook company, then you choose which matches to follow or add to a list.
Before you start
Your file must be in CSV format.
The only required field is the account name.
For better match accuracy, also include a DUNS number, website or country for each account. Rows with only a name can still be matched, but they're more likely to match the wrong company.
To get the right format, select Download CSV template in the upload window and paste your accounts into it.
Upload your Accounts
Go to Accounts > My accounts.
Select Add accounts in bulk. You'll find it on the Followed tab and on each list tab.
Select Upload a CSV.
Drag your file into the window, or select Browse files to choose it.
Check the file details. Databook shows the file name, the number of rows, and a Ready status when your file can be processed.
Select Start Mapping. This button stays disabled until you've added a file.
Review the Matched Companies
Once matching is complete, Databook shows the companies it found for your file, each with a checkbox. The number of companies you've selected appears at the bottom of the window.
Clear the checkbox for any company you don't want to add.
Companies marked Snapshot have a Company Snapshot in Databook rather than a full company profile. You can still select them. See "Snapshot companies" below.
Follow the Companies or Add them to a List
Choose what to do with the selected companies:
To | Do this |
Follow all selected companies | Select Follow all (n). |
Add them to a new list | Select the arrow beside Follow all, then + Create new list. Enter a list name (up to 32 characters) and select Create list. |
Add them to an existing list | Select the arrow beside Follow all, then Add to list name. |
Adding companies to a list does not follow them. If you want event alerts for the companies on a list, follow them as well. See Following accounts and managing lists.
Following Snapshot Companies
When you follow a company marked Snapshot, Databook imports its full company profile for you. Once the import finishes, Databook follows the company automatically, so you don't need to come back and follow it again.
After you finish
Followed companies appear on the Followed tab of My accounts, and the account count at the top of the page updates.
Snapshot companies you followed appear on the Followed tab once their import finishes.
Companies you added to a list appear on that list's tab. A new list appears as a new tab.
