Adding Accounts in Bulk and Using Advanced Search

Overview: If you work with many accounts, you no longer need to search for and follow companies one by one.

Written by Geetanjali Sharma

From My Accounts, you can now:

  • Add accounts in bulk by uploading a CSV or finding companies with filters.

  • Follow a whole selection at once, or add it to a list (new or existing).

  • Follow Company Snapshots. Databook imports the full company profile, then follows the company automatically.

  • Unfollow several accounts at once.

Following an account and adding it to a list are separate actions. You can do one without the other.

  • Following controls which accounts appear on your Followed tab and which accounts you get event alerts for.

  • Lists help you organize accounts. They don't follow or unfollow anything on their own.

Find by filters

You want to build a set of accounts from criteria such as industry, revenue, geography or company type.

Both options finish the same way. Select the companies you want, then choose Follow all, or use the arrow beside the button to add them to a list.

What Each Action does: Following versus lists

Action

What it does

What it does not do

Follow

Adds the account to the Followed tab and turns on event alerts for it. For a Company Snapshot, Databook first imports the full company profile, then follows it.

Does not add the account to any list.

Add to list

Adds the account to a named list so you can group and review accounts together.

Does not follow the account.

Remove from list or delete a list

Removes the account from that list.

Does not unfollow the account.

Unfollow

Removes the account from the Followed tab and stops its event alerts.

Does not remove the account from your lists.

For more on bulk unfollowing and following every account on a list, see Following accounts and managing lists.

Known Limitation: Sorting Large Tabs

You can sort the table on My accounts (for example, by Score) when your Followed tab or list has fewer than 50 companies. Sorting isn't available on tabs with more than 50 companies.

Create a smaller list with only the companies you want to compare, then sort that list. See: Following accounts and managing lists.

This is expected to affect fewer than 1% of users.
