What is the Prompt Library?

The Prompt Library is a centralized space in DatabookAI where Admins and Owners can view, create, edit, categorize, and manage prompts used across their organization.

Who can access and manage prompts?

Only Admins, Owners and Power Users with appropriate permissions can manage the prompt library via the new self-service UI in the Admin Console.

What’s the difference between Foundational and Custom prompts?

Foundational prompts are prebuilt by DatabookAI. They can’t be edited or deleted, but you can assign categories or duplicate them to create custom versions.

Custom prompts are fully editable and can be created, categorized, and deleted by Admins.

How do I categorize prompts?

Admins and Owners can assign or create categories when editing or creating prompts. Categories help organize prompts by use case (e.g. Prospecting, Outreach). You can filter by category in the Prompt Library.

Can I test prompts before saving them?

Yes. You can preview how prompts will look, including placeholder text like {account}, using the “Test Prompt” button before saving.

What happens when I delete a prompt or category?

When you delete a prompt, it’s removed from the library in real time, and its category remains available for reuse. If you delete a category, any prompts previously assigned to it will remain active but appear uncategorized.

Where can I find this feature?

You can find it in the Admin Console > DatabookAI Studio > Prompts.

Why is this change important?

This update reduces internal bottlenecks, empowers organizations to tailor their own content, and helps us learn what types of customization customers want most.
