Account coverage and on-demand company Imports

Search across 2.6 million operating companies to find your accounts in Databook

Written by Alex

Databook now searches across approximately 2.6 million operating companies — a major expansion from previous coverage — so you can find the accounts in your CRM without ever hitting a dead end. For any company that isn't yet fully set up in Databook, you can request a complete import with a single click.

Finding companies in Databook

Search in My Accounts now covers a much broader universe of companies, including long-tail private companies and subsidiaries that weren't previously findable in Databook.

Search results are ranked so that fully imported Databook companies — especially public companies and those with the richest coverage — appear at the top. Companies that haven't been fully imported yet appear further down the results and open into a Company Snapshot page (see below).

Company Snapshot pages

When you open a company that exists in Databook's extended index but hasn't been fully imported yet, you'll land on a Company Snapshot page. These are clearly labelled so you always know what you're looking at.

A Company Snapshot includes:

- Rapid Rundown — a brief AI-generated summary of the company

- About — industry, sub-industry, description, website, employee count, and geography

- Industry priority insights — strategic, digital, and ESG priorities relevant to the company's sector

Subsidiaries and parent companies

If the company you're viewing is a subsidiary with a parent already fully imported in Databook, the snapshot will surface a link to the parent company. The parent is where you'll find the full account intelligence, AI Coach, assets, and workflows, so this is usually the best place to start.

Requesting a full import (Add to Databook)

Every Company Snapshot has an Add to Databook button. Clicking it triggers an automated import that builds out the full Databook company profile, including:

- Complete account intelligence and strategic priorities

- Peer group and benchmarking context

- AI Coach, asset generation, and workflow access

Turnaround time is typically 2-3 hours. You'll receive a notification when the import is complete, and the snapshot page will automatically redirect to the new full profile on your next visit.

Frequently asked questions

Why do some companies show a Snapshot instead of a full profile?

Databook's extended index covers ~2.6 million companies, but full profiles — with AI-generated intelligence, assets, and workflows — are built through an import process. A Snapshot gives you immediate lightweight context while keeping the option to upgrade to a full import open.

How long does a full import take?

Imports are automated and typically complete within 2-3 hours. You'll get an in-app notification when your company is ready.

Can I import any company in the index?

You can request a full import for any company that appears in search results and shows a Snapshot page. If you need a company that doesn't appear in search at all, reach out to your Customer Success Manager.

What happens to the Snapshot once a full import is complete?

The Snapshot redirects automatically to the new full Databook company profile. You don't need to do anything — just revisit the company and you'll land in the right place.
