Following Accounts and Managing lists

Learn how the following accounts and lists work together and how to manage both.

Written by Geetanjali Sharma

Following an account and adding it to a list are separate actions. Following controls which accounts appear on your Followed tab and which accounts you receive event alerts for. Lists help you organize accounts and do not change what you follow.

How following and lists work together

  • Adding an account to a list does not follow it.

  • Removing an account from a list, or deleting a list, does not unfollow it.

  • Unfollowing an account does not remove it from your lists.

  • An account can be followed, on one or more lists, or both.

Accounts you were already following before this change are still followed. This includes accounts that were followed automatically because you added them to a list in the past.

Create a list

  • On My accounts, select + New List.

  • While adding accounts in bulk, select the arrow beside Follow all, then choose + Create new list. The list is created with the companies you selected.

Enter a list name (up to 32 characters), then select Create list. Your new list appears as a tab on My accounts.

Add Accounts to a List

Open the list's tab on My accounts, then:

  • Select Add account to add a single company.

  • Select Add accounts in bulk to add many companies at once by CSV upload or with filters.

Sort Accounts on My accounts

On the Followed tab and on each list tab, you can sort the table by a column, such as Score.

Sorting works on tabs with fewer than 50 companies. If the Followed tab or a list has more than 50 companies, you can't sort it. To sort a large set of accounts, create a smaller list that contains just the companies you want to compare, then sort that list.

To create a smaller list for sorting:

  1. Select + New List and name the list. Alternatively, select Add accounts in bulk and choose + Create new list from the menu beside Follow all.

  2. Add fewer than 50 companies to the list.

  3. Open the list's tab and sort by the column you need.

Follow Every Account on a List

To follow all the companies on a list in one step, select the list menu (…) beside the list name and choose the follow all option.

  • This is a one-time action. Companies you add to the list later are not followed automatically.

  • Companies you already follow are not affected.

  • The option isn't available for an empty list.

Unfollow Accounts in Bulk

  1. On the Followed tab, select the checkbox beside each account you want to unfollow.

    • The checkbox in the header row selects every account currently shown, taking any search into account.

    • Hold Shift and select a checkbox to select every account between it and the last one you selected.

    • Selecting a company name opens the account. It does not select the row.

  2. In the bar that appears, check the number of accounts selected, then select Unfollow. Select Clear to cancel the selection.

  3. Review the confirmation window. It lists every account you are about to unfollow and warns you if any of them have event alerts turned on or are on a saved list.

  4. Select Unfollow n to confirm, or Keep following to go back.

The accounts leave the Followed tab and the account count updates. A confirmation message offers Undo, which follows the accounts again.

When you unfollow an account, event alerts for it stop and it leaves your Followed tab. It stays on any lists it belongs to, and you can follow it again at any time.

To unfollow a single account, select … at the end of its row, then Unfollow account. The same confirmation and Undo apply.
