The home page is the first thing you see when you sign in to Databook. From here, you can ask a question about an account, see what’s changed in the accounts you follow, and find the right coach, prompt, or asset for the job.
Getting to the home page
The home page opens when you sign in.
To return to it from anywhere in Databook, select the logo at the top of the left navigation.
New in the left navigation still opens a new conversation
Your followed accounts are still available from Accounts in the left navigation, as well as on the home page.
What’s on the page
The page opens with a greeting and today’s date. Below it is the Ask anything bar, then two columns. On a narrow window, the columns stack into one.
Section | Where | What it's for |
Ask anything | Top | Ask a question about one or more accounts |
What to work on | Left column | Browse coaches, prompts and assets by go-to-market stage |
Where to start | Left column | Your recommended items and your favorites |
My accounts | Right column | The accounts you follow, with their Databook Score |
New activity on your accounts | Right column | The latest developments at the accounts you follow |
Ask anything
Type a question into Ask anything about your accounts. Tag an account attaches an account to the question so the answer is about that company. You can ask follow-up questions in the same conversation.
What to work on
Four cards group every coach, prompt and asset by the go-to-market stage it supports:
Generate demand
Engage & qualify prospects
Advance & close deals
Retain & expand customers
Select a card to open the library showing only the items for that stage.
See Finding coaches, prompts and assets in the library for more.
How an item is assigned to a stage is explained on Categorizing coaches, prompts and assets by go-to-market job.
Where to start
The Recommended tab includes every coach, prompt and asset you have access to, sorted so the most relevant come first. The list scrolls (a Scroll for more hint shows while there is more to see), so you can reach everything.
See How recommendations work for how the order is worked out.
Each row shows:
The item's name. Where the item asks for an account, you'll see a highlighted placeholder (for example ${account}) rather than raw text.
Its type: Coach, Prompt or Asset
Its go-to-market stage
A one-line Why now explaining what it helps with
A star to add it to or remove it from your Favorites
The Favorites tab lists every item you've starred.
If your organization has pinned an asset or a coach, it appears at the top of Recommended. See Pinning an asset and a coach for your organization.
View all opens the full library.
Running a coach, prompt or asset
Select any item on the home page or in the library. It opens in a side panel with its name, description and stage.
Under Choose an account to continue, choose the account.
Select Start coach for a coach, or Create asset for an asset. A prompt fills in the account you chose and runs in a conversation.
When you create an asset, you'll see a confirmation that it's being built. You don't need to wait: Databook emails you the asset when it's ready, and saves it to the Assets page.
My accounts
The panel shows the number of accounts you follow and lists them with each account's Databook Score. You can scroll to see the rest, or select View all to open the full My accounts page.
View all opens the full My accounts page.
Selecting an account opens an account preview in a side panel. From there, you can open the full account page.
Add accounts opens a window where you can search for and follow one account or several at once, or add accounts in bulk by uploading a CSV or finding companies with filters.
Newly followed accounts appear at the top of the My accounts panel straight away, so you can check their Databook Score immediately.
For more on adding accounts in bulk, see Adding accounts in bulk and advanced search
New activity on your accounts
This panel shows the three most recent developments at the accounts you follow, with a count of new items. Each one shows the account, how long ago it happened, a headline and a short line on why it matters.
Select an item to see the detail in a side panel: a summary, the event detail, a suggested next step, when Databook last checked, and the data source. Select Ask Databook to start a conversation about it.
View all opens the full list of updates.
Direct links to coaches and assets
Each coach and asset has a direct link that opens Databook with that item ready to run. These are useful in enablement emails, training materials and internal announcements, to take your team straight to a specific workflow. Contact your account team if you’d like links for your organization’s coaches and assets.
